FC-12 MARK II

The Fractal Audio Systems "FC" series are dedicated foot controllers that allow artists to control the Axe-Fx III / FM9 / FM3 to their full potential.

Not only does it fully support the various functions of Axe-Fx III / FM9 / FM3, such as switching between Presets and Scenes, direct ON/OFF of effects, and looper control, but also offers multiple Preset switching modes: by number, by number within a Bank, alternating between two Presets, or Preset up/down. In addition, all switches can be set to TAP (short press) or HOLD (long press).

The "Stand-In Switch" function allows you to assign the same function to an external switch as to the main unit, allowing you to flexibly respond to artist requests on stage or in the studio.

Changes in MARK II

The MARK II has been updated to provide better visibility of the LCD display.

• LCD display increased from 1.4″ × 0.5″ (36.0mm × 12.5mm) to 1.9″ × 0.7″ (50.0mm × 17.5mm).
• Displayable character height extended from 4.6mm to 9.2mm.

Freely Designable "Layout" and Function Expansion with External Switches

Eight types of "layouts" with pre-assigned functions are provided by default for immediate use when connected to the Axe-Fx III / FM9 / FM3. In each layout, an LED ring indicates function and status (lit / half-lit / unlit), and a mini-display shows text such as effect name or preset name.

The function of each footswitch can be changed instantly. By pressing the switch you want to change and operating it on the Axe-Fx III / FM9 / FM3 side, you can freely customize TAP / HOLD assignments and mini-display text. Functions can be set on a per-preset basis.

In addition, there are four jacks for expression pedals and two jacks for up to four external switches. Using expression pedals and switches together enables the addition of selectable Presets and Scenes, as well as control of various functions including modifiers.

FASLINK™ II System

Faster than MIDI and more durable than Ethernet, the FASLINK format allows bi-directional communication between FC and Axe-Fx III / FM9 / FM3 over a single XLR cable.

The FASLINK Thru port supports daisy-chaining of up to four FC units including the one directly connected to the Axe-Fx III (up to two for FM9 / FM3, excluding the main unit), with power supplied to the first FC. This allows you to freely assign functions across units — for example, Preset switching on the first FC and Scene switching on the second.

※ Daisy-chain connection: A method of connecting multiple electronic devices in series. A power supply (see specifications) is required for the second FC unit onwards.

Mirroring (Master-Slave)

"Mirroring" allows two FCs to share exactly the same settings, enabling operation both on-stage and off-stage. This is equivalent to a standard master-slave configuration.

Robust Design to Withstand Hard Tours

The chassis features a powder coated 16 gauge steel shell with protective end caps. The SSS™ footswitch has no mechanical contacts, ensuring both durability and quiet operation. The LED ring and LCD display provide excellent visibility in all lighting conditions, from complete darkness to direct sunlight.

Continuously Evolving Foot Controller

FC firmware and settings are integrated into the Axe-Fx III / FM9 / FM3, so FC updates and backups require no separate action. Like all Fractal Audio Systems products, the FC is guaranteed to continue receiving updates and evolving for years to come.
