Minimum rental period is one week. There is no maximum. To extend, you can apply from the 'Active Rentals' section in My Account (coming soon).
Yes. You can rent multiple items simultaneously. Each item is charged its own rental fee. If items arrive in separate packages, perform the 24-hour arrival check for each package individually.
Yes, an account is required to place an order. Registration is free and open to everyone.
We accept credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, JCB, Amex) and various e-money payment methods.
Cancellations before shipping receive a full refund. After shipping, shipping costs and a minimum one-week rental fee apply; the remainder is refunded. Purchased items are fully refunded even after shipping (return shipping only). Cancellations due to our error receive a full refund.
Shipping & Returns
Delivery is free on all orders. For orders ¥3,000 and above, OtoGear covers return shipping and includes a prepaid Yamato Transport label. Only orders under ¥3,000 require you to cover return shipping.
Orders ¥3,000 and above include a prepaid Yamato Transport label. Drop it off at a Yamato office, convenience store (24/7), or request home pickup. We recommend photographing the item from multiple angles before returning.
There is a 48-hour grace period with no extra charge. After the grace period, a daily rate × overdue days is charged. If 14 days overdue, the item is treated as unreturned and the deposit is forfeited.
Item Condition & Damage
Please report via our contact page within 24 hours of receipt. Including photos helps us resolve the issue quickly. All shipping-related damage is handled by OtoGear.
Minor scratches and scuffs from normal use are at no charge. Damage from negligence (drops, liquid, broken switches, etc.) is charged at repair cost. The deposit is applied first; any excess is billed separately.
We photograph every item before shipping. You can view the photos on your account page and in your confirmation email.
About Purchasing
Yes. You can purchase any gear you are currently renting. Accumulated rental fees are automatically credited toward the purchase price. View your current balance anytime in My Account. Credit does not apply after the item is returned.
No expiry. However, it only applies to gear you are currently renting. Credit cannot be used after returning the item.
Until your accumulated rental fees reach 80% of the item price, 75% of each payment is credited. After 80%, 100% is credited. Once the remaining balance reaches ¥0, the gear is yours to keep.
